IN THE MIDDLE
February 3 – School Spelling Bee – 2:00 PM in the gym
February 11 – MathCounts Regional Competition
URGENT: The middle school is running very low on its tissue supply. Please bring boxes of tissues into your homeroom ASAP! If your child is sick, it is a good idea for them to carry a small package of tissues with them.
Speaking of being sick, it is definitely “that” time of year. Please continue to use discretion when allowing your children to stay home from school. Students are responsible for making up any missed assignments in a timely manner. When middle school students are absent unexpectedly (i.e.- sick), please email ALL their teachers for missed assignments, and copy Karen Janes.
Reminder About Cell Phones and Electronics
From the FPS Handbook: “Items from home that create an undue distraction or nuisance at school, such as electronic devices or toys, are not permitted at school. Students who bring cell phones to school must keep them powered off and in stored in a concealed location during the school hours of 7:45 AM to 3:15 PM. Any student using a cell phone during the school day will have it confiscated immediately and face possible further disciplinary action. If a student stays for any school sponsored events, he/she may use his/her cell phone to contact his/her parent/guardian for transportation purposes."
Please review the entire Student Handbook for further clarification.
