Why Is The Fourth School Fund Giving Important?
The Fourth Presbyterian School counts on a healthy Fourth School Fund campaign to supplement its primary source of income—tuition. However, tuition will provide only a portion of the school’s operating budget. The Fourth School Fund adds up the difference between what is and what could be, providing for improved faculty benefits, enhanced resources, new programs, and exciting opportunities. Giving to the school’s Fourth School Fund makes a significant difference.
The Fourth School actively seeks annual support from local foundations for scholarship assistance and other programs. However, the school’s success and growth depend primarily on support from members of its own community—from parents, grandparents and friends. We hope that each member of our community will consider the school’s financial needs and will participate in one or more of our fundraising opportunities.
How Is The Fourth School Fund Money Used?
Professional Development Opportunities for Faculty and Staff
Faculty and academic staff are able to attend a number of professional conferences and programs throughout the year. These programs ensure the continued implementation and support of the school’s core values of faith, virtue, and knowledge.
Classroom Materials, Equipment and Furniture
Funding for classroom materials and furniture are included in the school’s operating budget. However, each year there are items that are above and beyond the budget, and The Fourth School Fund provides support for these purchases. Also, unanticipated material needs arise, and your support ensures that these needs are met.
Development of Our Campus-Wide Technology Program
The goal of our school’s mission is to enable our students to “understand, evaluate, and transform their world under the lordship of Christ.” In today’s global environment, technology plays a critical role in that intentional enabling process. The Fourth School is a wireless campus—access to the Internet and its global resources is available to students, faculty, and staff from any location on campus. However, while there are some funds in the school’s operating budget allocated to our technology program, we rely significantly on contributions to our Fourth School Fund and special donations to help us develop our technology resources.
Campus Maintenance and Facility Renovations
With 32 beautiful acres of playgrounds, playing fields, and several buildings, the campus physical plant plays a vital role in maintaining and improving the beauty of our property. In addition, weather and wear take their toll, so renovations become periodically necessary. The Fourth School Fund helps cover these costs.
