Music

Students are familiarized with a full range of music through listening to and studying the great music of the centuries—both works of the church community and the great composers. Folk and traditional music is also introduced in our music program. Students participate in performances throughout the year.
First grade students build on the concepts taught in Kindergarten and begin to read rhythmic and melodic elements through the means of rhythm names and solfa syllables.
Second grade students build on the concepts taught in first grade and continue to read rhythmic and melodic elements through the means of rhythm names and solfa syllables.
Third grade students build on the concepts taught in second grade and continue to read rhythmic and melodic elements through the means of rhythm names and solfa syllables. Students participate in performances throughout the year.
Fourth grade students build on the concepts taught in third grade and continue to read rhythmic and melodic elements through the means of rhythm names and solfa syllables. Students participate in performances throughout the year.
