Kindergarten

Kindergarten is for children who are five years old by September 1 of that school year. It is a full day Kindergarten program.


The main text, Walking With God and His People, introduces Old Testament stories and people through the book of Ruth. Bible verse memorization, dramatization, and hands-on activities are used to demonstrate the narratives.


Introduction to key people and events in world history and early American history through hands-on projects, read aloud books, and teacher created materials. Students are introduced to the geography of their neighborhoods and city, as well as memorize the names of oceans and continents.


The main text, Houghton Mifflin, is a phonics-based reading program used in a balanced literacy instructional program. Various leveled reading books are used for guided reading groups.  The program integrates reading, word study, and writing.


H arcourt School Publisher Math K provides a study of six major math strands: algebra, geometry, measurements, statistics, probability, and number relationships. Manipulative materials provide hands-on experience. Problem solving is emphasized using various sources.


Hands-on, experiential learning covers the subjects of animals, seasons, weather, plants, and ecology using various materials and Delta Science Kits.
