July 1, 2008

Dear Parents,

It is with great excitement that I join The Fourth Presbyterian School to serve as Lower School Principal.  My passion for education is still as fresh as when I began my career thirty-five years ago.  I remain enthusiastic and energized in a school setting.

As I considered where God wanted me to take my next steps in the professional realm, I felt a strong desire to be able to combine my experiences in the public school arena with a place that has the study of the Bible as a central focus of its curriculum.  I am eager to begin this new calling in my life.

Through my life experience as a student, educator, and parent, I found that learning is continual life-long work which needs to be grounded in the truth of God’s living Word.  Therefore, I believe the goal of a successful school is student learning.  This is achieved through quality instruction and positive relationships.  It is done in an environment where the students know that all the adults in their lives believe in them and genuinely care about their accomplishments.

I look forward to working closely with teachers, staff, students, and parents.  Through this partnership we can continue to build on the strong foundation that was set nine years ago when the school opened.  I will start preparing for the upcoming school year in the beginning of July.  Please feel free to stop by and say "Hello"...my door will be open!

Sincerely,

Nancy B. Coit
Lower School Principal
