The library program of The Fourth School is a key component of our integrated, literature-based curriculum and endeavors to ensure that students and faculty are effective users of ideas and information.

The school does so by providing access to a dynamic collection, by stimulating interest in reading and using information, and by working with our teachers to provide learning experiences that encourage students to become critical thinkers.

Our current collection of 6,000 volumes is built around the school's core curriculum subjects and themes and provides materials in various formats to meet the educational needs of our students.

Library instruction helps students to develop strategies for selecting, analyzing and synthesizing information from our collection as well as from quality online resources. Lessons designed by the librarian and classroom teacher together enrich curriculum goals and encourage students to apply information independently and creatively.
