The policy of The Fourth Presbyterian School is to employ persons

Faculty Qualifications
A faculty member must:
Be a mature and committed Christian who loves Christ and lives a life consistent with the profession of faith, modeling true piety before the students
Exhibit a high level of literacy and demonstrate a strong dedication to life-long learning
Demonstrate respect for and a joy in working with children and their families, and commit to an investment in excellence for all students
Background and Experience
A faculty member must have:
A baccalaureate degree or beyond from an accredited college or university
A sound teaching philosophy in accord with the mission of the school and based on an understanding of development that is consistent with the educational goals of the school
Current experience in the appropriate grade level and mastery of curriculum development, instructional design, and classroom management skills as determined by the employment interview and teaching demonstrations
A thorough understanding of developmental psychology and the identification of learning differences
Experience with positive, appropriate classroom management/ discipline techniques
The ability and willingness to individualize instruction that appropriately challenges students of varying abilities, so that they may achieve up to the best of their God-given abilities
